True Wealth™ - Your Values and Your Money
True Wealth provides a virtual roadmap for a values-based financial life, for pursuing authentic dreams and goals, and for creating a legacy of true wealth in a borrow-and-spend world.
This informative, inspirational presentation will help your people:
- Crystallize their own core values and act upon those values to cultivate a healthier respect for and relationship with time and money.
- Understand the dangers of thinking about money, the quintessential left brain subject, on the emotional right side of the brain.
- Get off the credit card treadmill and motivate themselves to do a better job of saving and investing.
- Take responsibility for their own financial future, and not blame others for their problems or wait for others to bail them out of those problems.
- Replace mindless self-indulgence (to which we are all a party, admit it or not) with a commitment to make a contribution and make a difference.
- Manage their money more effectively in troubled times.
- Gather true wealth, in the sense described on the reverse.
Real people have real problems!
Many of your people are performance-impaired on the job because of their financial worries at home. In working with hundreds of people over the past several years, Joe has come to appreciate that in many cases, the single-biggest impediment to truly living values and pursuing authentic dreams is trouble with money.
True Wealth is being comfortable with money. I’ve worked with a lot of people who’ve said something like, “Oh, money’s just not that important to me,” when what they really meant was that they either lacked the self-esteem to think they deserved much money or the work ethic required to earn and manage it (or both).
True Wealth is being responsible with money, and taking the time to understand how your earning, spending, borrowing, and investing habits will or won’t contribute to the achievement of your long-term goals.
True Wealth is not needing lots of “stuff” to validate your sense of self-worth.
True Wealth is loving the work more than the job, and knowing that nobody can ever take the work away from you. As the poet McZen said, “Someone with a job is never
secure, someone with a calling is never unemployed.”
True Wealth is the ability to have no money in the bank, and yet act with confidence that future prosperity is just a matter of time if you work hard enough at doing the right things for the right people and for the right reasons. Again quoting McZen, “Broke is a state of wallet, poverty is a state of mind.”
True Wealth is loving people and using money, never the reverse. It is generous, never greedy. It builds, never destroys. It is drawn from dreams and ideas, never taken from other people.
True Wealth begins in the mind with an act of creating, and culminates in the heart with an act of giving. It is a call to active duty, not a ticket for a free ride.
